Some Christian Education programs focus on Bible passages in a vacuum,
pitting faith against reason. Not ours.
Pilgrim UCC is a Welcoming and Affirming church that aims to improve our students’ understanding of God, the community and themselves in a supportive, fun environment. We offer classes for children of all ages.
At Pilgrim, we study the Bible and how it applies in our lives today, gaining the spiritual and practical tools people need for growth as individual Christians, and as a community. Our Faith Practices Christian Education program provides a fresh approach to Sunday School. We don’t just talk about what God said a long time ago. We teach that “God is still speaking,” each and every day. Our curriculum facilitates lifelong education and a better understanding of God and God’s presence in our everyday lives.
Each month our Sunday School program focuses on a particular topic such as “hospitality,” “scripture” or “justice,” and we look at it from all angles, including building community, Christian tradition and spiritual growth. Our program encourages participants to embrace life experiences as windows to seeing God at work.
The goal of our Christian Education program is to provide the tools children and adults need to grow in understanding, deepen their faith, and follow their own callings from God.
Come join us, and bring a friend!
Each year the kids in our Sunday School raise money to purchase
animals for families in need through Heifer International.
